The Paramus Fire Dept. has been providing fire protection for the citizens of the Borough of Paramus for over 100 years. Although none of us have been around that long, we are lucky enough to have some members here for 20 - 30 years and even longer. Some over 50 years! We proudly protect over 26,000 citizens (and countless more visitors who shop in, or travel through Paramus daily) within 10.57 square miles of the town limits. We are a 100% volunteer department consisting of over 140 firefighters operating out of four fire stations. Our apparatus consists of 4 engines, 1 reserve engine, 1 mini-pumper, 2 tower-ladders, 1 haz-mat truck, 1 foam unit and 1 utility vehicle . Our members participate in  aggressive firefighter and officer training programs.

 

In 2011 the department responded to 1,213 calls and our members volunteered over 10,000 hours of service responding to these calls.
